URL:Scam es una alerta de protección web de Avast/AVG para una página que parece fraudulenta, engañosa o insegura. Puede deberse al sitio, a una redirección publicitaria, a un enlace malicioso o a adware en el navegador.

Qué significa URL:Scam

URL:Scam is a web-level detection. It does not always mean that your Windows system is infected. It means the antivirus blocked a page or redirect before the browser could load it safely.

Por qué aparece

  • The site is impersonating a brand, shop, exchange, support page, or login form.
  • A legitimate site is showing a malicious ad or redirect.
  • A browser extension or notification permission keeps opening scam pages.
  • Malware or adware is injecting redirects into browsing sessions.

Qué hacer

  1. Close the blocked tab and do not enter passwords or card details.
  2. Check whether the alert always mentions the same domain.
  3. Remove unknown browser extensions and notification permissions.
  4. Clear site data for the suspicious domain.
  5. If alerts appear on many unrelated sites, scan the computer and check proxy/DNS settings.
  6. No añadas la URL a excepciones sin verificarla con varias comprobaciones independientes.

FAQ

Is URL:Scam a virus?

Usually it is a blocked web threat, not a standalone Windows file. Repeated alerts across many sites may point to browser adware or a malicious extension.

Can the site be a false positive?

Yes, but whitelist only after checking the domain owner, final redirect URL, reputation, and whether the site was recently compromised.
